Sonora is the only city within Sutton County and lies at the crossroads of Interstate 10 which runs East & West and U.S. Hwy 277, which runs North and South making it convenient to travelers and commercial transportation. Freight costs are kept to a minimum because of this, creating an ideal location for industry.

Sonora also offers an industrial park that supplies easy access to various routes to the Mexico Border.

ACCESSIBILITY BY MOTOR VEHICLE:

San Angelo, Texas = 55 minutes

Del Rio, Texas (Mexico) = 1¼ hours

San Antonio, Texas = 2 hours

Austin, Texas = 2 hours

El Paso, Texas (Mexico) = 4¼ hours

Sonora is located on the Ports-to-Plains Route.  Sonora is going to be the crossroads of West Texas.

AIRPORT ACCESSIBILITY:

Sonora has a lighted, radio controlled municipal airport with a runway length of 4,037 ft.  Access to a regional airport is only 70 miles (55 minutes) north in San Angelo, Texas.

International Airports are located in Midland, Texas - miles to the West (3 hrs.), San Antonio, Texas -180 miles to the East (2hrs) and Austin, Texas - 194 miles to the Northeast (2 hrs).
